Letting go of a loved one’s belongings can often come with a lot of guilt, especially when those items meant so much to them but simply aren’t practical for us to keep. That’s why we love finding meaningful ways to repurpose treasured items into something new.
This way of thinking began with Karina’s very experience of home clearing when she was completing her own parents’ home. Her father Pete had a beloved collection of takeaway coffee cups that was always admired and just couldn’t be thrown away, so instead they created collages for themselves and family members who shared Pete’s love of coffee.
We’ve also seen beautiful keepsakes made from decorative hankies turned into cushion covers, and old clothing transformed into teddy bears.
Even this weekend, one of our clients showed us how they had repurposed smashed china plates and bowls into handcrafted decorations, jewellery pieces and charms.
This is what we’re all about, finding special ways to honour memories of loved ones while creating something meaningful to treasure for years to come.
